My Thrift Store Finds! ♥

Hey guys! How are you today? It’s Friday, we made it!

So most of you know that my platform was made to share all the things I love. So I thought I would start a new series of posts all about my thrift store finds. I love going to thrift stores, it brings me a ridiculous amount of joy. ☺

Just to shed some light on this location:

———————————————————————————–

I picked up a few items on this trip to Mission Thrift Store. A random assortment of things:

Ok, so this sweater is a wind river (WHAT?) fleece sweater. It’s seriously in BRAND new condition, it doesn’t even look like it has been worn. It’s a size medium and fit me like a glove. This was $ 3.00!

This is honestly not something I would usually wear. But after washing it, I wore it yesterday afternoon and LOVED IT! It’s sooooo comfy. It also cinches in with the band at the hip area. So I wore leggings with it and it was extremely flattering, considering it is an over-sized style sweater from the men’s section. Only $2.00!

thumb_IMG_0193_1024thumb_IMG_0194_1024thumb_IMG_0196_1024

I tried to take a close up of this top, because the material is something I have never worn before. It’s very stretchy, almost like a spandex material. This is extremely flattering on, as it’s form fitting, but because of the material it doesn’t squeeze you to death. I pictured this tucked in to my high waist jeans and my booties. This was only $ 2.00 as well!

thumb_IMG_0197_1024

This picture does not do this shirt any justice, because it’s an off the shoulder top. But I’m sure you can get the just of it. Only $ 2.00 with the tags still on it as well, and paired with my high waist jeans, this will be a staple in my wardrobe!

thumb_IMG_0186_1024

I wanted a few t shirts that I could lounge in at home so I picked these two up from the men’s section! I believe they were also only $ 2.00 each!

thumb_IMG_0179_1024

I absolutely LOVE knitted mittens, so I couldn’t pass these up. There were multiples that had been made and the proceeds were being donated back to the church, so I bought myself a pair. You can never have too many knitted mitts, it’s just not possible! So darn cute. My winter coat is black, so I figured a little pop of color from my mittens would be nice. These were $ 3.00 I believe!

This was in the seasonal section for .50 cents. I thought it would be cute in the living room area during the holiday season.

Cute ornamental snowman for .50 cents!

I love this painted sunflower vase, that was only $ 3.00! After washing it, I thought it would be cute to have on my counter in the kitchen, to hold all the utensils.

I think this might be one of the cutest mugs I have ever owned. It was $ 1.50, and I am currently drinking my coffee from it as we speak. SO cute!

I also purchased this picture, and decided to re do the frame. I actually didn’t end up liking the way this looked, so I took it down. But it wasn’t a total bust, because I kept the frame for future use.

I hope you guys enjoy this new series on my blog. Thrift store shopping is just so fun, there’s always such neat things you can find if you take the time to look. And it’s shopping that you can do without feeling guilty, because you can’t beat the prices! ☺

Have a great weekend guys! I think we’re expecting some snow, so I might be snowed in for most of it! (I don’t even mind)

My Recent Favorites — I LOVE THIS STUFF

Hey guys! I have been trying so many different products lately, so I thought I would share. From foundations to dry shampoo — these are my newest must-haves!

Some of these products are “old”, and I am just getting around to try them now. But they are still such awesome products that I had to mention them anyway.

————————————————————

thumb_IMG_0121_1024

I recently had my hair done, which requires a lot of bleaching (Blonde). Because of this my hair becomes quite dry, so I have been trying really hard not to wash my hair every day. I have tried many dry shampoos in the past and rather then helping my hair feel more clean — they just made my hair feel greasy. But this, oh man… Batiste Dry Shampoo in general is amazing, but this product is 2 in 1 and I have been reallllyyyy loving it! I’ve been able to skip a day of washing my hair because of it. A WIN! I also really enjoy the scent, it’s fresh/floral but not too strong. And believe it or not, I found this dry shampoo on a whim at the Dollarama for only $4.00!!! (Retails usually $8.00 +)

thumb_IMG_0128_1024

I watch a lot of beauty related videos on YouTube, so I tend to buy most of my products because of recommendations from the individuals I watch. This was a recommendation from Alex Garza, she recommended these facial razors after purchasing them off Amazon. I actually ended up finding them at my local Marshalls, and I LOVE THEM! I nair my upper lip as well as my eyebrows, I just prefer to do them myself. But if you have a few hairs that you missed or what have you, this works like a charm. It also doesn’t cause any redness. So if I’m doing my makeup and I notice a few hairs on my upper lips, this takes seconds and the hair is GONE! I will link the ones off Amazon that she recommended below, so you can get your hands on them too!

thumb_IMG_0132_1024

I honestly can not remember if I have mentioned the Garnier Sheet masks before, but they work so well that it’s worth mentioning again! I absolutely love these, especially the ones specifically for dry skin. They retail for only $3.99 and go on sale often. You really can’t beat it! Super moisturizing, they do not burn your face or anything like that, and provide such a smooth hydrated feel after use.

thumb_IMG_0124_1024

So I used to use this product many moons ago, and for some reason I had the urge to repurchase it after not using it for a couple years. Maybelline Great Lash Clear gel works so well to set your eyebrows! And it’s a cheap drugstore product; for the price you can’t go wrong. My eyebrows stay in place all day because of this product, what more can you ask?

This was another product that I saw on a YouTube beauty guru’s channel, and she highly recommended it, so I figured why not! It really is a great drug store product. I was using the Urban Decay Naked concealer and I have set that to the side, and have been using this L’oreal True Match everyday! I have the lightest shade W 1-2 ‘fair’,  I do find it has a bit of a yellow undertone when applying. But it sits nicely on my foundation and, sets well with a setting powder. Once my entire face makeup is finished it does not have a yellow undertone appearance, so I love it! I also like the sponge applicator too, it makes it easier for application for sure.

Ok, so where has this been all my life? What an amazing affordable lipstick this is. It dries matte almost immediately but is not drying on your lips. I am typically a lip gloss wearer because I like having hydrated lips, but this works so well for me! I went and ran errands for well over an hour yesterday and it was still on my lips when I got back home, this is a must have! I purchased the shade 01 which is called ‘honeymoon’. (linked below)

Last but definitely not least.. my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I gravitated away from this for most of the summer because my skin was so hydrated, thanks to the temperature outside! But now that it’s much cooler outside and my skin is a bit more dry, I started using it again. I’m not even mad — because this foundation is AMAZING! It is more of a liquid consistency which is what I prefer when my skin starts to feel a bit more dry, and because of this it doesn’t stick to any of my dry patches whatsoever. This foundation has such a radiant finish, and I am currently using the shade 1W2 Sand.

‘Simple’ Morning Skin Care Routine!

As Rachel Hollis would say “Girl, wash your face!”

I can not stress enough the importance of taking care of your skin! Now mind you — I’m human and sometimes I fall asleep without taking my makeup off at night. OR I skip my skin care routine in the morning all together because of lack of time. But for the most part, I try really hard to cleanse and moisturize my face daily!

If you guys are new here — hey there! My name’s Hannah and I am so happy that you decided to check out my blog today. If you haven’t seen any of my other posts talking about skincare/makeup; I have sensitive (for the most part) and dry skin, so I have to be pretty picky with the products I use. When I find a routine with products that work well for me; I tend to stick to it for months on end if not longer. Here are the products that I have been loving and the routine that works best for me:

First off, I have to put on a headband or a hair accessory of some sort to get all my baby hairs out of the way!

I absolutely love this Clarin’s cleanser! It has shea butter in it, so it works wonders for those who suffer from dry skin. I usually use this first to help remove any makeup and to cleanse. Another tip I have is to use a microfiber type of cloth when washing the product off. I find it is so gentle on my skin in comparison to a regular face cloth.

I know you are probably thinking, two cleansers?? Really Hannah?? But this works guys! I use the Clarin’s cleanser first to help remove any makeup or residue on my face. And then I go in with my Clean and Clear morning burst facial cleanser. It gives such a refreshed feeling to your skin after using it. If I remembered to remove my makeup the night before and my skin is looking okay, I will skip the first step. But I ALWAYS use this Clean and Clear product every morning, no matter what. It just makes my skin feel so awake.

Capture

I use a very hydrating moisturizer in the morning, I find my skin really needs it after the cleanser. I love the Clarins Moisturizer, it works WONDERS! I especially need it during these colder months; my skin practically begs for hydration in the cold! I always purchase this product specifically for ‘very dry skin’ as well.

—————————————————————–

Links to the products mentioned:

—————————————————————–

Alright guys, that’s it. Pretty simple right? Takes me 5 minutes — if that. It’s hard to use the excuse, “I don’t have the time this morning” when it only takes 5 minutes!

Let me know if you use any of the products I mentioned above, and your thoughts. Or if you have  ‘holy grail — can’t live without’ products for your skin care routine, let me know! I love trying new products. ♥

My DIY Project Using Fusion Mineral Paint! My Thoughts??

Hey guys, how are you today?? ♥

I swear it has not stopped raining here for the past 3 days.. but at least it’s not snow —-YET!

So I have been saying for the past couple of months that I wanted to purchase Fusion Mineral Paint and tackle my bedroom set. And last week, I finally did just that!

There was so much hype surrounding this paint, and how well it works — so I obviously had to get my hands on it.

fusionmineralpaint.jpg

Fusion Mineral paint is only available either online, or in a craft store type of setting. You can not purchase it from Home Hardware, Kents, ETC. (Just a heads up because I had no idea when I started searching for it)

I purchased the 500 ml jar for $25, which is the largest size you can get, in the shade ‘pebble’. When I bought the paint I really did not think that it would be enough in such a small jar. At first glance this color appeared to be off white, but once I finished painting my bedroom set, it definitely has more of a light grey tone. (As you can see below)

I have done many DIY projects in the past, and most recently I refurbished my end tables with a different type of paint. I have to say in comparison to the Fusion Mineral Paint — The Fusion Mineral Paint wins by a landslide.

It was so user friendly — SO easy to use. If you have no past experience with DIY projects and you are going out on a ‘whim’ and refurbishing a piece of furniture in your home, I would HIGHLY recommend this product. SERIOUSLY.

You do not have to buy a particular brush to use this paint, I bought all my painting tools at the Dollarama and they worked like a charm. No issues whatsoever! Spending less than $20 on painting supplies? Sign me up!

It only required two coats. THAT’S IT! Hold up — let me show you the pictures before I continue.. Me going on about it is not going to do this post any justice!

This is the before of my large dresser and one of my side tables. I was given this bedroom set for free; so it had a few knobs missing, and it’s more of a pressed wood/plastic type of a bedroom set. It was not in the best of shape, but hey — it was FREE.

After only two coats of the Fusion Mineral Paint this is the after:

afterofnightstandafterbigdresser

I am so beyond impressed with how they turned out. I am currently waiting for one more jar of the paint to come in on order so I can finish my large mirror, headboard and the second and final coat on my wardrobe style dresser. BUT one 500 ml jar was able to finish this large dresser, two bedside dressers, and one coat of paint on the wardrobe — isn’t that crazy??

It’s crazy what a coat of paint and a new knobs can do to a piece of furniture. The knobs I purchased are from Home Depot for only $1.45 each!

————————————-

My overall rating of this product?

It is definitely worth purchasing, I really loved the way it turned out.

If you guys decide to refurbish something in your home with this product, please be sure to send me your results. I would love to see!

A new perspective thanks to the novel, ‘Girl, wash your face!’

“Stop believing the Lies about Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be” -Rachel Hollis
thebook

For the past couple of months my Facebook and Instagram feed have been flooded with posts about this incredible novel written by Rachel Hollis. Girl, wash your face! has been alllll the fuss with my girlfriends, and I finally got my hands on it! I was so excited to give this book a try. I am a huge fan of self help, health related books. I love the kind of read that is going to get my ass in to gear. This EXCEEDED my expectations and this is a must read for ALL females.

4 major things that I took from reading this novel:

     1. Your dreams are NOT stupid just because they’re challenging to reach

  • Oh man. This right here. The novel is written all about the challenges and struggles Rachel Hollis has struggled through herself, and how she has come out on the other side. This was a huge point that I took from reading through each chapter. The individual that you are so envious of because they are a successful owner/operator of an amazing business — do you realize how many times somebody slammed a door in THERE face, or said NO? Instead of accepting it, instead of declaring defeat, they pushed on??? They wouldn’t be called your dreams if you didn’t have to work for them. If they weren’t challenging, they wouldn’t be so damn rewarding! And another thing: just because somebody doesn’t understand what your dream is, or where you want your life to go, that doesn’t mean that you are WRONG. Chase the hell out of what you truly want and don’t stop until you get there.

quot3

2. It is totally okay to be a girl boss — own that shit

  • Ok but for real. This was one of my favorite parts of the entire novel. The chapters that she wrote outlining the fact that she built a company from nothing, she has multiple employees that help her run her company who answer to HER. She works her ASS off — and she is PROUD of it! That right there. She is PROUD! All us woman should feel the same way for each and every one of our achievements. You do not have to be one thing or the other! You can be an amazing mother, and have an incredible career. You can be whatever you set your mind to because we’re amazing. It doesn’t matter. You rock, and work your butt off. Remember that.

quot32

3. I can be whoever I want to be, because I say so

  • It doesn’t matter what kind of childhood you may have had. It doesn’t matter the opportunities that you may have missed out on. Yeah ok, it sucks. We can acknowledge that. But the only person in control of your life is YOU. The only person in control of your attitude is… YOU. Do not waste your time and energy focusing on the negative, and make a better life for yourself. Do well because YOU deserve it. Make yourself PROUD.

Rachelhollisquote1

 4. My goals are not hard to reach as long as I am willing to put in the work

  • One of the biggest points she tries to make in her novel is the fact that we need to stop giving up on ourselves. She says something along the lines of, “how many times have you broken a promise to yourself? Oh, I won’t eat that junk food for a whole month, only to fall short within 5 days? Stop quitting on yourself. Stop throwing in the towel, and put in the work. It is that simple. You want results? Then you need to work for it!

quote4

So am I right or am I right, about this novel? It was seriously the kick in the ass I truly needed. It is such an empowering read. And I also love that I have been able to keep up with her motivational talks, and conversations as she has a live stream on Facebook daily right now with her husband. I also love that I can stay connected by listening to her podcast.

After reading this novel I have set new goals for myself in hopes of achieving them; I am determined! What is one goal for yourself? Hop on this journey with me. And pick up this book — you seriously won’t regret it. What a game changer.

Where have I been?? Hey y’all — let’s catch up!

Well hey strangers. It has been a hot minute!

I went a bit MIA recently as I needed a bit of a social media break. I had appointments and things that I had to do that took up most of my time. But I’m back! What have you guys been up to? Are you having a good week?

I thought today I would share with you some goals I have for the upcoming month, and a few things that I have been up to while I was gone! xxoo

———————————————————–

1st goal?

Take the time to exercise. I always feel so good afterwards, it’s just finding the motivation to get up and get moving!

coleoutforwalkWalkpic

2nd goal?

So I have recently started meal prepping. I can not get over how much this really helps us eat better, and less. I usually do it every Monday. The first week I began prepping, I prepared:

Mealprepfoodincontainers

Chicken, rice, zucchini, and asparagus. It was so yummy. I did the chicken two different ways so it was a different taste with each meal, this just added a bit of variety.

Left: I have peppers and mushrooms mixed prepared in portions for fried veggies that we can grab for. I also prepared smoothie bags, portion sized again. Makes it easy to grab and go.

mealprepfoodinfridge

Finally I had snack sized portions of veggies. Celery (to go with cheese whiz), snap peas, cauliflower and watermelon.

I swear by this now after doing it consistently for a week and a half. When the snacks are easy to reach for, eating healthy really isn’t that difficult.

————————————————

I also did a project recently. I finally re-did my dressers with Fusion Mineral Paint. They turned out SO good, and was such an easy task. If you guys have any questions about how it worked, and full review on the product — let me know for sure.

Before and after pictures below:

——- I am seriously so happy to be back posting again. It has been too long. I hope you guys have a great night, and will talk to you all again very soon! ♥

♥ Habits that I’ve implemented in my life that help me stay positive+ and decreases my anxiety

Guess who’s back…. back again.. ♫♫♫

I am back with a new post today. Hey all! I have been a bit MIA this week because I had a few important things I had to take care of this week, but I wanted to make this post today.

We are entering the cooler seasons of the year. And with that comes the Winter blues. Blah! I’m not sure about you but Winter blues can hit me hard if I let it. So I wanted to share a few habits that I have implemented in my life that really have helped me a GREAT deal. They have helped me stay positive, focused and have really decreased my anxiety. I am the type of person who enjoys routine, routine makes me feel GOOD and keeps me on the right track.

       1. Exercise

chance

I don’t know about you but when I see the word exercise the first thing that comes to mind is WORK. Exercise sounds like a task — it sounds like work. And who the hell wants to go to their full time job/classes during the day, whatever it is that you do, and then have to try and convince yourself to workout?? The answer is NO ONE! But something that we are all at fault for doing is thinking that we have to go HAM at the gym, or go to an hour and a half workout class to make it worth while. That is not the case people! Get up a few minutes early and go for a small walk around your neighborhood in the mornings. Go to the gym on your lunch break and walk on the treadmill for a half hour. Use whatever small amount of extra time you have in your day, or MAKE that extra time, and gift your body with an opportunity to feel GOOD. Working out not only makes me feel good physically, but it also has a positive effect on my emotional/mental state. I have been trying to go for a quick morning walk when I wake up. Instead of laying in bed for those extra minutes scrolling aimlessly through social media, I get my ass up out of bed and do the small block around where I live. Get up and get moving! It’s the perfect way to clear your head in the morning, provides you with a few minutes of “you” time, before the craziness of your day begins.

————————————————————–

      2. Yoga/Stretching

yoga

I have been doing this for months and have noticed a huge difference in my bodies flexibility, as well I have noticed a decrease in pain/discomfort in my joints/muscles. I’m not saying you have to pay for a membership and have to attend a yoga class or anything like that. Money does not grow on trees, and it is not always easy to find the time to attend a class. But it is 2018 people —- go on YouTube and educate yourself on a few yoga moves, or different stretches. Find the ones that you enjoy most, or ones that you find the most helpful, and do that every day. If I wake up in the morning and I find that my body is aching, or I didn’t sleep well because my anxiety was through the roof — taking 5 minutes to stretch on my yoga mat helps immensely. Not only does it give you 5 minutes to yourself, but it helps to recenter. Everybody struggles differently, and everybody’s anxiety is a little bit different then the next person, but something like yoga/stretching allows you to focus on something else for 5 minutes. A healthy distraction!

————————————————————–

      3. Journaling

I know I have talked about this in a post before, but writing in my journal has made such a positive difference in my life. There are MANY different ways that you can use a journal that are all equally as beneficial. You could write in your journal in bullet point form, you could write only about your day and the activities that took place, you could use it to write about your thoughts, you could use it to write about only positive/uplifting things — there are SO many uses. I like to use my journal for a little bit of everything. Some days I may talk about my day and what I did, or I will write down things that are bothering me. I am not one who enjoys talking about myself and my own emotions out loud, but keeping them bottled up inside is also not healthy. So using my journal as an outlet to problem solve, or to calm my anxiety has been a HUGE help.

————————————————————–

       4. “me” time

You go to work because you have to, you have bills to pay. You go to the grocery store because you have to, you need to eat. But what do you do in the run of a day or week, that you do because you WANT to? Working, cleaning the house, running errands… these are all tasks you perform daily/weekly that have become habits. But what habits are you implementing that are there just because they make you feel good? If you do not allow time for yourself, if you do not give yourself that “me” time, then you are doing yourself an injustice. Even if it’s giving yourself an hour a day to read a book, or time to paint, etc. Whatever it is that you ENJOY doing, make time for it! There are so many benefits to giving you “me” time. The biggest one is HAPPINESS! My version of “me” time is cuddled up reading a book vs watching TV. It makes me so happy, and clears my mind. Giving myself those few minutes to do what I want, makes such a difference. Sometimes the dirty floors can wait.

————————————————————–

     5.  Eating foods that make my body happy

This is such an important one. Something that we all fail to recognize is the affect food has on us in alllllll aspects — physically AND mentally. There are so many foods now a days to tempt us.. grilled cheese flavored chips, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE? How do we learn to say no to foods like that? What I have learnt over the years is that eating everything and anything in MODERATION. I am human, so I obviously hate when I have to say no to something. I don’t want to feel like I have to cut out certain food groups, or not eat certain things because of the calorie or fat content. But if we eat everything in moderation, you do not have to say no completely. I recently was finding myself using food as an outlet for my emotions, which we all know is a big NO NO. Snacking is my thing, and my god it is so bad for us. Eating unhealthy or foods that are not offering any positive benefits have the ability to affect our bodies negatively. I feel GOOD mentally when I know that I am feeding my body good food. I feel GOOD physically when I am not bloated from a family size bag of chips that I know I shouldn’t have eaten. It is as simple as that. It can affect your skin, your hair, EVERYTHING. Make sure that affect is POSITIVE.

————————————————————–

     6. The effects of positive content

Growing up in this century, it now being 2018, we have access to so much different content. This is something small, but it is also something that I have found can make a huge difference in my mood. What I watch on TV, the content I watch on YouTube, or the things I allow myself to listen to can really alter my mood or thoughts — positively or negatively. When I go for my morning walks I try and listen to podcasts that are uplifting, or podcasts that are going to motivate me. I am going to list a couple of individuals that I really have been enjoying:

————————————————————–

I am still learning so much about the habits that make me happy, and the habits that I can implement daily that will have a positive affect on my life. I want to be the best version of myself as often as I possibly can. I am learning so much about myself everyday, and that will continue for the rest of my life. But I wanted to share a few things that I have found work, and hopefully it will have a ripple affect and start to help you.

If you guys have any tips or things that you do on the daily to help with your anxiety or things that help you live a more positive life, make sure you leave them down below! I would love to hear from you.

All my love xo

Get Ready With Me — Casual Evening Out!

Hey y’all, happy Friday!

thumb_IMG_9971_1024

I went out to the movies last night with some friends, and saw A Star Is Born! It was so good, and I highly suggest you going to see it. I see Lady Gaga in a different light after watching this movie, seriously.

I decided to do a little get ready with me to show you what make up I was wearing, outfit, and my hair of the night.

————————————————————————

Face:

thumb_IMG_9973_1024

  • I tried the Estee Lauder – Perfectionist Youth Infusing Foundation for the first time. I had mixed feelings about this foundation initially. It is definitely more light to medium coverage and I was not satisfied with the amount of coverage given until I used my concealer and powder to bring the look altogether.
  • I applied this foundation with a beauty blender, and found that worked well. I applied the foundation as shown above, and then had to build up the foundation because with only one layer it was too light of coverage for my liking.

————————————————————————

Eyes & Brows:

  • I used my Mac eyeshadow quad and angled brush on my brows.

————————————————————————

Lips:

————————————————————————

Hair & Outfit:

thumb_IMG_0042_1024makeuplook2

  • I’m trying not to wash my hair every day lately. I have second day hair today, so I figured I would pull it out of my face. I did two french braids going down each side split into two small buns. If you guys would like to see a ‘how to’ post on this look, just to let me know in the comments!

thumb_IMG_0048_1024thumb_IMG_0056_1024

  • My outfit was very casual and comfy. I am wearing my high waisted American Eagle denim jeans, with a black top from Old Navy. I paired it with my blanket scarf that I purchased from Winners I believe it was. It was really chilly, so I wanted to bundle up!

————————————————————————

MakeupLook

That is it for today’s post. It is a bit of a long one, but I wanted to show you guys every detail. I had a great time at the movie, and once again you guys should go and watch A Star is Born, it was the perfect movie for a girls night out.

Have a great weekend, and will be talking to you guys again soon xo

Foundation

  • So if you guys saw my review for this foundation you won’t  be the least bit surprised that I included it today. I have used this foundation religiously during the month of September. You guys should check out my review that I have on my page for allllll the details, you won’t regret it!

Precisely, My Brow Pencil

Brow Pencil

mybrow

  • I have been LOVING this eyebrow pencil. It was a newer purchase for myself and was a bit out of my comfort zone at first. But the product is amazing, and works wonders. The only issue that I will say is that I bought a shade too dark,so the next time I purchase it I will have to go a shade lighter. But otherwise, a great product!

Hair Brush

  • Ok, so this brush. Let’s just take a moment…

I purchased this from Sallys Beauty Salon years ago and completely forgot about it. It works WONDERS on easily tangled hair!

Lip Products

  • This has been my favorite lip combo lately. It is a clinique lipstick (so old), and this OFRA lip liner in Silk.

thumb_img_9651_1024.jpg

Nail Polish

  • I was feeling in the spirit for Halloween, so this combo seemed like a given. I love having my nails painted!

Books:

Dorothy Stevenson – Sarah’s Cottage

  • I have been such a fan of Dorothy Stevenson’s writing. This has been the 3rd-4th book I have read by her, and it was SO good.

Andrew Morton – Diana Her True Story

  • I have an obsession with Princess Diana. This book was by far the best novel that has been written about her life. I found it respectful, informative and REAL.

Food:

Snacks

These. Are. So. Freaking. Good.

  • They are free of many things, so they are friendly to all different types of people and conditions. Vegan, gluten free, dairy free, the list goes on. They are so yummy and easy on the stomach.

  • I have been loving this coffee I purchased from Costco. It was so much cheaper to buy a big bag of coffee beans like this in bulk. But it was a serious bonus that it tastes so darn good.

Household Items:

DIY knife holder

BeforePicOfBlock

  • This is the before! I was going to throw it out to be honest. But then I figured I would try and attempt to up-cycle it.
  • This is the after. I am honestly so proud of how this turned out!
  • So I have never had a new knife set, ever. We finally picked up a brand new knife set at Costco… I am in love!!!!!!!!!!

Fashion:

Fall/Winter Coat

  • I really enjoy this coat for the cooler seasons. I am not one who enjoys being extremely warm, I never have. But this coat has a fur liner in it, so it’s plenty warm enough but still airy. It also cinches in at the waist, so it’s very figure flattering.

Star Wars tee

  • This shirt though…. I freaking love it. Everybody needs a staple comfy tee. This is definitely mine!

House Decorations:

  • This Bath & Body Works candle smells like Fall dreams!!!!!!!

  • These cute little pumpkins and acorns are from the dollarama. They were super cheap, but so darn cute!

Gadgets:

  • This thing is so cool. My boyfriend actually gave this to me, and I use it SO much. I am a note taker, no matter what I am doing. So this is perfect for me! It has a pen to be used only on this board, and it is just so easy and fun to bring along.

What did you guys love this past month? Let me know in the comments. I am always looking for new things to try!

Talk to you all again soon ♥

Around The House!

Hey all! It has been a few days since I have posted. I hope everyone is doing well. ♥

As I am sure you guys have noticed by all my Fall posts, I have been really in to this season already. This week I decided to do some much needed reorganizing and cleaning to prepare for the Winter season — I know it is only October, but before we know it, the first snow fall will be hitting the ground. Gulp!

The first task I needed to tackle was the storage in our bedroom. We live in a two bedroom apartment, so we do not exactly have a ton of space. But that being said, we are super fortunate to have a few areas where we can put things that keeps our belongings out of the way.

We have all this storage available at the top of our closets, which is AWESOME. But the issue is that over the summer, it has become so unorganized and just a mess!

First task, was taking everything down and seeing everything that was up there.

Then I went through everything and sorted out what we needed, and what we could donate/sell.

SO MUCH STUFF!

I purchased these XXL Ziploc bags to store all our summer clothes in. I love these! I actually bought them from the Dollarama, super cheap but the perfect form of storage when you do not have a lot of space.

I then organized all our extra bedding, and made sure to label the totes that way I could locate things a bit easier.

Although it may not look that much different, this is SUCH an improvement!

Next I wanted to tackle the spare closet. This is the before!

I used the same steps to clear out this area. I first took everything out of the closet, figured out what we did/did not need, and then began to reorganize.

I swept and cleaned off the shelves, just tidying up the space before I put everything back. I wanted to make sure I deep cleaned the area, because I knew I wouldn’t be doing this again until the new year.

Ahhhhhh! That feeling when things are organized and you can locate everything and anything you may need.

After this deep cleaning in the bedroom, I wanted to go around and clean all the fans. I didn’t take any pictures of this process because it was honestly so disgusting, so dusty. But what a difference now that they are all clean!

Next I switched around our dog’s bedding, because who doesn’t love a fresh bed to lay on?

And then my least favorite part of all — cleaning the floors. I wanted to add this in here because I love putting Lemon essential oil in the water that I use to mop my floors. It makes such a difference, and the smell is a highlight.

Alright guys, that is it for my post today. I hope you guys enjoyed cleaning around the house with me. I find these type of posts so motivational and relaxing. When I see somebody else cleaning their space, it makes me want to do the same! Is that silly? Am I the only one?

Nonetheless, I hope you all have the best day. And a great week! Happy hump day.

Make sure to leave a comment, say hi! I would love to chat. ♥

Talk soon xo
